With TB Connector it would just give me totally distorted audio for whatever setup I have for it, whatever buffer size and other settings.

And would only agree to feed my Cubase with clean, non-distorted audio for NO MORE THAN 10 Seconds, under the condition that it is operating on USB 2.0 Connector, and NEVER Through a hub. Tried switching everything, the microphone, the computer to another Lenovo Thinkpad P1(6 core Xeon e2176m and 64G of Ram), switched different TB3 connectors, reinstalled driver, reinstalled the OS, patched everything, disabled everything, and the OSSC would Only decide to cooperate every second time it’s connected. I started by ordering the Orion Studio SC in January when it still came with only the Edge Solo, tested it and was greeted with the usual driver instability issues, pops, clicks, and could never record ANYTHING without distorted audio. And how much of a discrimination the industry has upon Windows Based, Laptop Form-factor Workstations. Yet I underestimated how much of a unstable OS Windows is. I chose the Lenovo for the 64G more of ram and standardized component over the Apple proprietary crap. It got 2 TB3 connectors at the back and I initially thought: ‘Take that, MBP16’ and then was proved how wrong I was to count on Windows Once again. My new workstation is a Lenovo Thinkpad P53 With i9-9880h 8C/16T cpu, 128G of ram, 3*2T M.2 NVME SSD and Nvidia Quadra P4000 GPU. My poor friend, I had exactly the same experience as yours.

Am I just too far ahead of the curve here? Do I just use a USB interface for a while until the market catches up? I almost feel like I am stuck with my Apollo X6 and a wait for their engineering department to come up with a fix to work with Windows 10 boxes, but alternatives would be welcome. The pre-sonus 2626 does not have the I/O I want, MOTU has a unit that is close but thunderbolt 2 and not 3. Option 3 (plan B) would be to go to a slower interface like USB 3, but for the audio quality and features I want (6 line channels in, etc.).

With the Apollo line and pretty much all things Antelope in the "people are having problems" column, what is the general wisdom out there? Do I keep the Apollo X6 and wait for UA to get their stuff together (not exactly loving using asio4u as a stopgap while awaiting UA software fix), try an Antelope Orion and possibly return to the "make the interface work" hell? Neither option is especially appealing, but I do not see another rack mount Thunderbolt 3 audio interface out there with anywhere the features I want. So, in investigating alternatives the "Antelope Audio Orion Studio Synergy Core Thunderbolt Audio Interface" looks great on paper, but a perusal of feedback on Antelope gear on this forum does not exactly give me great confidence that I would not just end up in bug chasing hell, with my computers' root system being taken hostage by a piece of management server software to boot (pun intended). Seems to be no problem with the Apollo interfaces and Mac platforms, but those of us in the PC world seem to be not so lucky.

Now, I am having a hell of a time getting the apollo X6 to work and am suspecting, after nearly a month back and forth with tech support including my X6 making a trip back to the factory for a firmware update (need a mac to update the firmware, a PC cannot do it hint number one indicator of a bigger problem) so I am putting up the telescope to investigate alternatives to the Apollo line for my PC based system. The availability of thunderbolt 3 interfaces (specifically the UA Apollo line) is what tipped the "it is time to build a new one" trigger for me, having run an EMU 1616m on a Z97 based system that was going obsolete and unsupported and rendered dead by an OS update (I "unupdated" to get it working again).

I just built a new workstation class PC to run Pro Tools, and am having a heck of a time finding an audio interface.
